![]() ![]() ![]() In my googling I stumbled across a number of posts comparing the moog to the source audio spectrum and started to get intrigued, then I heard that the C4 can cop all the filter effects the spectrum managers and more. So in my latest GAS I started wondering how easy it would be to clone the moog but i think it's probably far beyond my skill, i've looked at few other project filters but am not sure. My other filter gas had always been the the EHC microsynth, i had always chased after that dramatic slow rising filter effect it does so well many classic filter pedals cant cop. I've loved the Moog MF-101 ever since I saw Corinne Bailey Rae live about ten years ago, her bass player had one it just sounded so good. The EHX is neither given nor immediate access to, but it has SOUND.I have been missing having a envelope filter pedal on my board for a while and my new band has a pop/edm edge that really leans towards a bit of wub wub, funky filter effects and synthy tones Before buying it I had tried a Boss Bass Synthesizer, and frankly there's nothing to see (the sound I was not convinced and the tracking was rotten). Always with an ultra-fat analog color file that banana. One can get a whole range of sounds associated with the synthesizers 70 and 80 years, percussive sounds or rather great sounds dub, more or less dirty, effects such e-bow. When I tried this pedal in the store I had obtained that changes a bit crappy of a synthetic fuzz sound, but it can do more! As such the "manual" (3 copies STAPLED ugly crooked) has the merit of giving some examples of settings that help to understand well the effect of various parameters in the grip: how to get her to the Minimoog, Taurus, ARP, Prophet, a autowah, a fuzz. To sum up, I put a fair rating but it just means that it takes time to learn to use it. Of course, there is no memory of different settings, so you have them down on little pieces of paper.Ī word about the tracking: very good, but the pedal reacts badly to agreements in general, you just know (although in theory this to work). ![]() We must spend a lot of time tweaking the sound to make the most of this pedal, as on a synthesizer in fact, or have fun has turned all the buttons, eventually realizing that it makes a moment ago that s 'fun and you do not always find the sound. The mixture of different parameters sometimes gives surprising results, and depending on the settings, the fact of a knob can move slightly change the sound significantly. But it does not mean that the sound edition easy. The general setup is simple, in the sense that we can understand what knob does what: the sensitivity, the octaves, the "distortion", the filter. Note, the gain of the pedal is a rule of origin for a passive bass pickups single coils, but you can adjust it as necessary with the help of a trimpot inside the case. Rate: rate at which the filter moves up or down, if we chose the frequencies start / stop different. Start / stop frequency: provides a filter effect up or down. Attack delay: if you put something other than zero, the sound will take time to reach full volume, ca thus yields the effects of such e-bow. Sound that is close to a fuzz, whose intensity is determined by the volume of the bass and the attack on the rope. The upper octave is pretty dirty and distorted (I like). Suboctave / guitar / octave: octave -1, 0 +1. Trigger: sensitivity from which the filter kicks in (does not affect the octaves). Bass pedal synthesizer 100% analog, although as always with EHX beefy. ![]()
