![]() It seems like it's definitely related to that file but I'm not quite sure what the issue is or what if anything I can do about it. So my guess is that the database file in that folder may be getting corrupted or something. I can restart everything by trashing the folder again, but it starts over from zero going through my library and figuring out what I've already uploaded. For a while I can get it to get going again by just killing it and then relaunching, but it seems like each time I do that it goes for a bit shorter a time until eventually it's freezing almost immediately after launching again. Sometimes it'll work for 20 minutes or a half hour sometimes a bit shorter. I still have to kill it using Activity Monitor whenever it freezes up. Some music files, such as WAV, AIFF and RA, can’t be uploaded at all. So what I found was that if I deleted the music manager folder in ~/library/application support/google I could get Music Manager to work again for at least a little while after relaunching it before it freezes again (get a beachball whenever I hover my mouse over the menubar item and all uploading stops). Google Play Music supports the usual suspects MP3, AAC, WMA, OGG, FLAC and so on but there are limits, so for example uploading Windows Media WMA files is supported via the Windows version of Music Manager, but not other versions of Music Manager. But in my desperation to try to get this working again I figured I'd try out this solution anyway. I had actually seen it before but had ignored it because that user's issue wasn't exactly the same as mine. In my searching for info I found this post: Use this one, trust us.Alright I'm still having my issue but I may have made a little bit of progress on finding the source of the problem. Plus, you don’t have to download and install a horrible app to do the work as it all takes place in the browser. This method downloads music vastly faster than the previous method by a large margin and it’s also fairly easy to do. In the bottom left corner, an orange arrow icon will appear, tap that to view the progress of the download in your browser.Configure that to the folder where you want your downloaded music to go. After that, two new sections should appear in the Settings.Note: You also need to download a Google Play Music extension for the proper sections to show up if you haven’t already installed it.We recommend pointing it at a folder with no music since you’re here to download your music, not add more. Tap the Add Your Music button and follow the instructions. Scroll down until you find the Music from this computer section.Click the 3-line menu in the top left corner of the window.Open the Google Play Music web player by clicking here.It works on the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge if you enable the ability to install Chrome extensions. Note: This method requires you to use Google Chrome browser.Just turn off your computer to shut down all the programs on it and then restart it and run the Music Manager again. Reboot the Music Manager and your computer. The faster, better method (recommended for everyone) While you fail to re-upload the songs that you have deleted from the Google Play Music library, you can fix the problem by using the methods below: 1. This is the only method that doesn’t require a specific browser and the only time we’d recommend it is if you can’t or won’t download and use Google Chrome. Jokes aside, this is actually not a terrible method if you don’t have a lot of music, but quickly gets worse and worse the larger your collection is. If you stop it and resume, it will start over about half of the time, re-downloading songs you already downloaded. Note: This method doesn’t actually stop.Start watching the entire extended editions of the Lord of the Rings movies because the download is going to be very slow.Click the Start download button to begin. We recommend a folder of your choosing so you can sort your music later. You can choose iTunes, your computer’s music folder, or a folder of your choosing. It will ask you about a download location.We recommend the option with the biggest number (usually Download my library) because it contains every song you purchased or uploaded.
